The aim of this thesis is to provide information on internal parasites, developmental stages and the possibilities of husbandry measures aimed at limiting the occurrence of gastrointestinal parasites in horses. This information is supported by our own analysis in horses observed on a farm in Mazice between 2020 and 2022. The aim was to evaluate the seasonal effect on the dynamics of egg excretion of gastrointestinal helminths of the Strongylidae family in horses kept in an active stable.
Sezónní dynamika bičíkatých řas v různých typech rybníků

The research was conducted in the surroundings of Toužim town. Samples of plankton and metaphyton were collected from 10 fishponds over the year 2020, samples were taken in spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Various environmental variables were measured such as temperature, conductivity, pH, transparency, and nutrient content. The specimens were identified and relative abundance was assessed and later used for counting environmental indexes. The main focus was on flagellated algae and their seasonal changes in composition among other alga were compared. All the environmental data together with species data were statistically analyzed.
Red algae (Rhodophyta) in freshwater ecosystems

This bachelor thesis is focused on an interesting group freshwater red algae (Rhodophyta). This group comprises organisms from quite distant evolutionary clades, nevertheless sharing similar ecological requirements. They mostly occur in unpolluted lotic ecosystems. In the theoretical part, I summarized publications dealing with the general and ecological aspects of distribution of these algae (mainly of the genus Batrachospermum). For example, the issue of seasonal populational dynamics, or their role in succession of benthic algal communities. The practical part includes floristic data on findings of various species of freshwater red algae, predominantly from the Czech Republic. Furhermore, it includes observation on seasonality of a single population of Batrachospermum gelatinosum.
The diversity of filamentous freshwater algae and factors affecting the dynamics of their communities

This bachelors thesis is summing up the knowleadge from published papers which are dealing with the ecology of filamentous algae communities. It is focused on how the seasonal dynamics and biotic and abiotic factors do affect the communities of filamentous algae. The first part of the thesis contains a taxonomical overview of genera of the concern. In the second part there are different types of water habitats divided by their morphology and other characteristics (depth, temperature etc.). I am dealing with the factors affecting the composition of filamentous algae communities in stagnant waters of the temperate zone. No comprehensive works focusing on this field have been published so far. My thesis presents a synthesis of knowledge from avaliable sources. The species concepts of many filamentous algae are quite confusing, that is why their species determination is so difficult. That is the reason why there are not many journal articles dealing with such ecological issues. Key words: filamentous algae, ecology, freshwater habitats, diversity
The role of microhabitats in spatio-temporal differentiation of phytoplankton flagellates

This thesis deals with factors structuring phytoplankton flagellates. The aim of the thesis was to investigate the role of microhabitats in spatio-temporal differentiation of lentic communities of these flagellates, which has not been rigorously examined to date. The study was conducted during 2010-2013 in the shallow littoral sites of Horní rybník, Rybníčky u Podbořánek Nature Reserve. Phytoplankton flagellates showed cyclic seasonal dynamics, which was reflected by significantly different community structure and species richness during the season. In contrast, silica-scaled chrysophytes showed a non- cyclic seasonal dynamics. The impact of the season was strongly correlated with the impact of fluctuating environmental factors - pH, conductivity and temperature. Gradient of interrelated environmental factors between the northern and southern shore together with microhabitat - substrate type played the major role and accounted for 64.4 - 75.8 % variability in the data. Microhabitat type (plankton, metaphyton, epipelon) significantly affected species richness and community structure also in the course of the season. Seasonal dynamics and diversity of protist organisms in peat bog microhabitats.

This bachelor thesis summarizes the literature dealing with diversity of protist organisms in peatlands. First part presents brief general characteristics of peatlands for the acquisition of basic knowledge about this ecosystem. Further, this work concerns closely with spatial dynamics of protists in peatlands, with emphasis on microbiotops. The final part reviews available information on seasonal dynamics of protist organisms in peatlands and also on the factors that have an influence on seasonality. This work concludes that the community of protist organisms in peatlands is different from those observed in other ecosystems. The composition of the community of protists in peatlands is very heterogeneous, because it depends on the type of microbiotop and prevailing physicochemical conditions. The communities of protist organisms are subject to seasonal dynamics as well. Nonetheless, this issue is largely unexplored so far, because there are substantially less recent studies concerning peatlands than for example other aquatic ecosystems that are frequently used for water quality monitoring.

Seasonal changes in populations of soil tardigrada in dependence on humidity and temperature changes

Aim of this study was observation of soil tardigrada populations in Hosín in south Bohemia. The research took place in three different localities (meadow, fallow and forest) where the distribution of species was defined. We examined the abiotic factors and their influence on abundance, size of the subjekt and seasonal dynamic of populations.
